Dimapur, April 7 (EMN): North East Initiative Development Agency (NEIDA) has organised a community awareness and exposure tour for the Village Watershed Committee (VWC) members of Pungro block in Kiphire district under the project ‘Springshed based watershed development programme.’
The project is being implemented with the support from NABARD. The programme included an awareness event and an exposure tour to Tethuyo village from March 23 to 25.
NEIDA press release stated that VWC members at Tethuyo village and the state Land Resource Department hosted the visiting VWC members from Pungro block. It added that through these activities, VWC members and community leaders were oriented on the importance of springshed and watershed in ensuring water security and the key role of community in managing and preserving those natural resources.
