DIMAPUR — A group of 20 students and two teachers from PM Shri Government High School, Yangphi, Kiphire, are on a National Integration Tour to Delhi and Agra, organised by the Assam Rifles under Operation Sadbhavana 2025-26.
As part of the tour, on September 2 at Agra, the students visited the Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort, learning about India’s cultural heritage and historical legacy. They also visited the Paratroopers Centre at Agra Cantonment, where they interacted with elite soldiers, witnessed their training, and learned about their discipline and dedication in safeguarding the nation.
According to a press release, on September 3, the group visited the Para Special Forces Centre, explored the historic Fatehpur city, and paid tribute at the National War Memorial at India Gate in New Delhi and the Amar Jawan Jyoti.

On September 5, the students met the president of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Originally, a student was to deliver a speech on behalf of the group, but due to a last-minute change, the speech was presented by the accompanying major officer with slight modifications.
The speech introduced Kiphire district, shared about Mount Saramati and its cultural significance, reflected on the unity in diversity experienced during the tour, and conveyed gratitude to the Assam Rifles for making the journey possible. An invitation was also extended to the president to visit Kiphire in the future.
Community and educational initiatives
Meanwhile, on Saturday, Assam Rifles undertook a community development initiative at Chendang Saddle and Chingmei village by distributing solar-powered street lights and chairs for the community centre.
It said that the installation of solar street lights will enhance safety and mobility during night hours, while the provision of chairs will facilitate community meetings, social functions, and cultural gatherings.
Also on Saturday, the force organised a motivational-cum-friendship tour for the residents of Ward No. 8, Jalukie, Peren district.
A total of 42 participants, including 16 males and 26 females, were provided transportation by Assam Rifles from Jalukie to Chümoukedima and back. The tour gave the residents an opportunity to travel outside their town and explore.
Assam Rifles Public School, Phek, celebrated Teachers’ Day with the participation of 42 students. The celebration featured a cake-cutting ceremony and a special "Thank You" wall where students expressed their notes of appreciation for their teachers.
On September 5, Assam Rifles organised “A day with company commander” at Bhandari, Wokha, on the theme “Education – learning beyond classrooms”.
Thirty students and two teachers from Government Higher Secondary School, Bhandari, joined the programme, which featured interaction with the company commander, sports activities, a tour of the Company Operating Base, a gym visit, and a community lunch.
From August 25 to September 4, Assam Rifles organised a Work Education Programme at G. RIO School, Kohima. Experienced instructors conducted sessions on first aid and carpentry, imparting practical knowledge and discipline.
