DIMAPUR — In connection with the proposed visit
of Union Finance Minister of India, a meeting was held at the DC conference
hall in Kiphire on Tuesday, comprising heads of offices and NGO leaders.
During the meeting, DC Temsuwati Longkumer informed that the
finance minister's visit would focus on credit outreach programmes, including
SHG entrepreneurs in skilled work. He also instructed all agricultural and
allied departments to prepare PowerPoint presentations on their departmental
activities, according to a DIPR report.
The departments responsible for implementing various
International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) projects have also been
directed to be ready to present their reports to the finance minister.
The remaining departments were instructed to carry out
necessary preparations for their respective tasks, and projects carried out
under CSR will also be visited.
Deliberating on the security arrangements for the visit, the
DC asserted that it is a joint responsibility and urged the local authorities
to assist the security forces and the police in providing security.
The NGOs in Kiphire have also been informed to stay prepared
for discussions and interactions. Heads of departments based in Pungro were
directed to be present in the station, as the finance minister would be
visiting the Pungro area.
