Kiphire and Mon administrations call for wide participation in the state-level half marathon SPANDAN in Kohima.
DIMAPUR — The district administrations of Kiphire and Mon have notified the public regarding the upcoming state-level half marathon under the initiative "SPANDAN - Sports for Peace and Development across Nations", scheduled to be held in Kohima on October 5.
The marathon is being organised by the Office of the Commandant, 78 Battalion CRPF, Sechü Zubza, Kohima, in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and the Government of Nagaland.
According to a DIPR report, the initiative aims to promote peace, unity, harmony, inclusiveness, and social integration through sports, while encouraging youth, students, sports enthusiasts, and local communities to participate in sporting activities.
Deputy Commissioner of Kiphire Temsuwati Longkumer issued a circular urging all government departments, educational institutions, youth organisations, and stakeholders to extend wide publicity and encourage maximum participation.

He directed sub-divisional and block-level officers, heads of offices, educational institutions, youth clubs, sports associations, civil society organisations, and other concerned stakeholders to ensure that the information reaches the grassroots level so that interested participants from Kiphire district are adequately informed of the opportunity.
Meanwhile, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Mon Pakon Phom also notified citizens of Mon district to participate in the state-level half marathon.
