Kiphire DPDB reviews drainage infrastructure, TB-free campaign, Har Ghar Tiranga, POSH compliance, security measures and BSNL connectivity in Seyochung.
DIMAPUR — The monthly meeting of the Kiphire District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) was held on August 12 at the DC’s Conference Hall, Kiphire, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Temsuwati Longkumer.
According to a DIPR report, the meeting commenced with the chairman welcoming the new DPDB members, followed by confirmation of the minutes of the previous meeting.
The board deliberated on a proposal for the development and improvement of drainage infrastructure in the district.
In this regard, the concerned line departments, including PWD (R&B), National Highways and Urban Development, were directed to take necessary action and formulate plans for improvement.
The proposal for registration of the Azikhe Amulung Society, Kiphire town, was also approved and recommended to the concerned department for final approval.
The board further held a detailed discussion on the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan – National TB Free India Campaign. EAC Takatemjen informed the members that the necessary notifications, circulars and orders had already been issued to all concerned departments in recent weeks.
He urged the departments to carry out their respective tasks and submit action taken reports at the earliest.
On the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026, Takatemjen directed all area administrative officers, heads of offices and other concerned authorities to observe the campaign as per government directives and submit action taken reports, including details of the number of flags used.
The EAC also reminded heads of offices to constitute committees for the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) at workplaces.
He informed that only 15 departments in the district had so far constituted POSH committees.
The deputy commissioner also reminded the heads of offices that constitution of such committees is mandated by a Supreme Court directive and urged all concerned to ensure compliance at the earliest.
SP Kiphire, Chinese, called upon all concerned departments to remain vigilant and strengthen security measures during the Independence Day celebrations in the district.
Earlier, the deputy commissioner appealed to all heads of offices to coordinate with the respective area administrative officers while carrying out their duties.
ADC Seyochung, Chumlamo Humtsoe, also apprised the board of grievances regarding poor BSNL call facilities and network connectivity in Seyochung. After deliberation, the board requested the concerned department to take immediate steps to improve telecommunication services in the area.
