- DIMAPUR — With an
objective to improve academic performance, conference and retention of
underprivileged girl students by pairing them with academically strong students
for peer learning and mentorship, Kiphire district has launched ‘Shiksha Sathi’
(education companion).
- The ‘Shiksha Sathi’ initiative was launched during the
monthly meeting of Kiphire District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) held
on Saturday under the chairmanship of the deputy commissioner (DC) of Kiphire,
Temsuwati Longkumer.
- A DIPR report stated that members have also deliberated on a
proposal for collaboration with the District Skills Development Committee for
the benefit of college students. In this regard, the principal of Zisaji
Presidency College has been directed to organise seminar with the concerned
departments.
- Reviewing the last meeting minutes, the members discussed on
the proposal for construction of Amahator EAC office building and decided to
forward to the higher authority for final approval.
- During the meeting, DC also gave away prizes to winners of
the 3rd inter-departmental sports Meet 2025, organised by the Officers’ Club,
Kiphire.
