Dimapur, May 8 (EMN): To achieve complete plastic free district, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire, Reny Wilfred, urged all officers in the district to put up water purifier system in their respective offices and to avoid using plastic water bottles.
Reny Wilfred stated this in his address at the monthly meeting of the Kiphire District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) held in the DPDB hall, DC’s Office, Kiphire, on May 8.
Supplementing the ADC, SDO (C) HQ, Nyempo Wallim, shared in brief about the use of plastic and its problem. He encouraged the officers to make places for storing plastic wastes in the offices and appealed to the school authority to give plastic free message during the chapel hours in the schools.
The house also suggested enhancing the chopper service at Pungro, Seyochung and Kiphire district headquarters especially for the citizens who travel outside from Kiphire to help them out during disaster.
Speaking on the occasion, ADC suggested against transferring lecturers at Zisaji College to avoid disturbance of good working environment of the college. The Board also asked sericulture department to prepare the implemented projects and to submit in the next DPDB meeting.
Reny Wilfred also informed the Board that the incubation centre for the young generation would be setup in Kiphire aspirational district. Ambulance service and proper water supply to Kiphire town were also discussed during the Kiphire district DPDB meeting.
