Dimapur, Aug. 26 (EMN): Kiphire Town Baptist Lithro (KTBL) conducted a school for fathers from Aug. 15-19 on the theme “A loving father makes a loving family,” with Rev. Imti Sangtam, pastor SBCK, as resource person. The four-day school was organised by the KTBL and sponsored by the Sangtam Baptist Church of Kohima.
The resource person, who was also a fathers’ school graduate of 2013 batch, spoke on fathers’ influence, fathers’ manhood, fathers’ mission, and fathers’ spirituality and family.
Stating that fathers represent God in the family, he said they should know their responsibilities.
“The Bible says, fathers are the head of the family, but today we see many headless fathers in the family. If the fathers know how to shoulder their responsibilities in the family, our society, our churches etc will grow,” he expounded.
During the programme the campers were divided into eight groups and were assigned to do various activities. They shared their own experiences from childhood to fatherhood. They were also asked to write letters to father, wife and children.
On the concluding programme, fathers (campers) along with their wives attended the school where they presented a rose to their wives, prayed and feet washing ceremony was held. At the end of the session, 38 fathers were awarded with graduation certificates - the first batch from KTBL Fathers School 2018.
