“To bring about positive changes in the society, we should all strive to move from being an ordinary Naga to a better Naga,” said Y Kikheto Sema, Secretary Finance. He was speaking as the chief guest at the general meeting of Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) in Chekiye village, Dimapur.
Lamenting on killings amongst Naga brethren, Kikheto talked about respecting lives and urged the people to stop all such undesirable activities. The chief guest also emphasized on preserving ancestral land and language, which according to him, is the identity of Naga people.
Further, Kikheto underlined the importance of giving women their due share and right place in the Naga society. Touching on the topic of Article 371 (a), he queried whether Naga people are utilizing the advantages of contents of the Article.
During the programme, Sumi Hoho president, Toniho Yeptho, also exhorted the gathering consisting of GBs, elders, bureaucrats and other leaders.
