DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 13: Members from Kidima parish undertook pilgrimage to the Holy Door, Cathedral Church, Kohima, led by Rev. Fr. Neisalhou Carolus, Vicar General of Kohima Diocese, who was also the main celebrant on Sunday service.
Rev. Fr. Neisalhou Carolus, in his sermon to a large gathering of faithful, urged to ponder serving God by devoting their time and energy apart from material contributions. The Vicar General said spiritual offering by being faithful to His commandments will inherit eternal life.
The Vatican has declared ‘Year of Mercy’ and allotted as Holy Door to three churches under Kohima Diocese of which the Cathedral Church was one of them where the faithful could make reconciliation with God. He said God is compassionate and will forgive the sins of those who confess.
The Holy See made special provision under ‘Year of Mercy’ for the people of God to repent from their sins and to enable them inherit eternal life. Fr. Neisalhou Carolus informed that ‘Year of Mercy’ will culminates on November 20 on the feast of Christ the King.
Altogether 37 from St Francis Xavier’s Catholic Church, Kidima, undertook pilgrimage to the Holy Door. Special prayer, praise and worship and Eucharist celebration were the highlights of the programme.
