Kohima on May 7.
- DIMAPUR — A
kick-off meeting for the medical college hospital project at Nagaland Institute
of Medical Sciences & Research (NIMSR), Kohima, was held on May 6 and 7,
jointly organised by the Department of Health and Family Welfare and Nippon Koei
India Pvt. Ltd., the project management consultancy firm, under the JICA ODA
loan project.
- The objective of the meeting was to formally initiate the
project implementation process and deliberate on the project scope, stakeholder
responsibilities and required support mechanisms, the IEC Bureau, Directorate
of Health & Family Welfare, stated in a press release.

- The session was chaired by the commissioner and secretary of
Health and Family Welfare and attended by members of the project executive
committee, PMU and other senior officials from the department.
- As part of the programme, the team also undertook a site
visit to the proposed location for the Medical College Hospital to assess
ground conditions and facilitate planning for the next phase of project execution.
- “This marks a significant milestone towards the realisation
of a state-of-the-art Medical College Hospital in Kohima, aimed at
strengthening medical education and delivery of quality healthcare in
Nagaland,” the release stated.
