Wokha, Dec. 29 (EMN): Ayamo Khuvung was adjudged the winner of the 6th edition of air rifle shooting competition organised by the Wokha District Rifle Association (WDRA) held at Likya community hall, Wokha, on Thursday.
Ashamo Ezung and M Rentsanthung took the second and third positions respectively. The winner won cash prize of INR 15.000.
Fifteen-year-old Zachamo C Ngullie was presented with the youngest shooter of the competition award, while Yanrenthung Tsanglao was presented the oldest shooter award.
Vice President (CEB) NDPP, YM Humtsoe, graced the occasion as the special guest. The special guest in his address lauded WDRA for organising the event and giving a platform to the young talents in the district.
Humtsoe also appealed to the participants to take the game seriously as sports provide opportunities in terms of employment and self-sustainability.
District Sports Officer, Wokha, Libemo Jami, who also spoke on the occasion, handed over the awards to the winners of the competition. Altogether 57 shooters took part in the competition.
