Pointing out that frequent conflicts among the different tribes in the district was the main hurdles in the process of development, Parliamentary Secretary of Women Development, Land Revenue and VGs, L Khumo, called upon the people of Kiusam area to cooperate with the state government for speedy development.
L Khumo said this at the inauguration of the newly constructed EAC office cum residence in Kiusam town under Kiphire district on April 20 in the presence of public leaders and administration.
Reminding that peaceful coexistence is only way to progress of the area, Khumo appealed to all sections of people to maintain peace and shun violence for progress and prosperity. Also stating that land is the main item of development, he called upon the people to generously contribute land for any kind of development without creating any hurdles.
Khumo said inauguration of EAC office cum residence in Kiusam is a big step towards development of the area. He said Kiusam EAC Headquarters was established in late eighties but its office couldbe constructed only this years.
The programme was chaired by EAC Kiusam town. ADCs of Pungro and Kiphire and several public leaders spoke, who spoke on the occasion have lauded the state government for according facilities to the backward area.
