Kohima, August 19 (EMN): Khrieneituo Kezieo scored two stunning goals as he led league leaders Khriekesa to 4-1 victory over Forerunners' FC at the ongoing Kohima Football League on Saturday.
Khriekesa FC scored two quick goals in 20 minutes time through Khrieneituo Kezieo in the first half and Kekhriengulie Usou’s goal and late strike from Petivozo Kezie-o in the second half sealed the victory over Forerunners’ FC.
During the match, Khrieneituo opened the account for Khriekesa in the 7th minute with a stunning free kick outside the D-box area and he scored again as he mastered a free kick again into the back of the net in the 20th minute.
In the second half, Khriekesa didn't stop but started the counter-attack again and Kekhriengulie Usou scored the third goal in the 59th minute as he headed the ball into the net through a corner kick to give the deserving lead.
Forerunners’ FC failed to breach the defensive line until Akum scored a consolation goal in the 68th minute but Petivozo Kezie-o with his brilliance added his fourth goal in the tournament as he scored the fourth goal in 87th minute for Khriekesa to finish the game.
With the win, Khriekesa FC remained on top of the league with 10 points (three wins and a draw) from 4 matches, and Forerunners' FC slipped to the bottom of the league with 2 points (two draws and two losses) from 4 matches.
Ziekezou SC wins
In the second match, Ziekezou SC defeated United 16 FC 3-0 to secure three important points in the league. Ziekezou SC now has 6 points with two losses and two wins in the Kohima Football League.
In the match, Ziekezou SC team dominated the game as Kekhrieletuo Tsira and H.Tingnek Konyak combined together to set up the game play for the team. While United 16 FC team lacked the leadership quality and failed to create many chances throughout the match.
Ziekezou SC opened the account in the 12th minute through Keneinguze Pienyu. The defenders were a fault as they failed to clear the ball and Keneinguze seized the opportunity to score the first goal as his teammates passed a through ball for him to convert.
Ating Konyak found the net in the 33rd minute as he tapped the ball into the empty net after Keneinguze's shot was deflected by the goalkeeper.
United 16 FC showed no signs of improvement in the second half, and substitute Kekhriesetuo Khro finished the game in the extra time to make it 3-0 at the end of the final whistle.
Khakevi Assumi of Ziekezou SC was cautioned with a yellow card during the match.
