KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 11: Khriekethozo Keretsü scored a hat-trick as Addax FC demolished Upper Chandmari Youth Organisation 6-1 to make it to the second round of the ongoing Classic Cup tournament here at Kohima local ground.
Playing the third match of the day, Addax FC took an early lead when Khriekethozo drew first blood in the 3rd minute, followed by the second goal through their centre-forward Tseizo Kelio in the 29th minute. Addax FC took the third lead when Kikrusetuo Keretsü scored during stoppage time in the first half.
In the second half, Thejasezo Mor gave a lifeline to Upper Chandmari YO when he scored in the 35th minute. However, the Addax FC was quick to increase the margin again when Neikethozo Yhome scored in the 43rd minute to make it 4-1.
To make it worse, Khriekethozo scored the fifth goal for his team in the 48th minute. And by the 53rd minute, it was jubilation time for Khriekethozo as he went on to score his hat-trick goal, becoming the first player to do so in this edition.In the first match, Lerie Youth FC defeated Crony FC via tie-breaker to register their entry to next round. Both the teams were locked in 2-2 draw until the end of the stipulated 60-minutes match.
In the match, Lerie Youth FC took a comfortable lead in the first half when their centre-forward Wanghe scored twice in the 4th and 10th minutes.
But Crony FC’s determined effort to stay in the game was paid off after the interval as Vilhouvotuo minimise the margin when he scored in the 39th minute. Just minutes before the final whistle, Mezizoto scored the much-needed equaliser in favour of Crony FC, thereby forcing the match to head to the tie-break.
Playing the second match of the day, Tyrants FC Khuzama also advanced to the next round with their victory over Kezieke FC 3-0.
The match was equally poised till the end of the first half; however, Tyrants FC came back stronger after the interval to beat their opponent.
The match almost seemed to be heading for tie-breaker until Vitha Sale inflicted the first blood in the 54th minute, six minutes before the final whistle.
The Kezieke boys, who were given the punch within the final ten minutes of the game and had very little time to recover.
To press for the equaliser, the Kezieke boys push their players up front but this resulted to their disadvantage as Vimeyiezo Poito netted the second goal for Tyrants FC in the 56th minute.
A minute later, it was all over for Kezieke FC as Vitha Sale went on the score the third goal for his team in the 57th minute to make it 3-0.
