Dimapur, November 15: The conference of Youth Affairs and Sports and Secretaries of States/Union Territories was held on Tuesday at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
Vijay Goel Union Minister of State (IC) for Youth Affairs and Sports was the chief guest.
Union Minister of State for Skill Development, Pratab Ruddy and Union Minister of State for I & B, Col R Rathore were the guests of honour.
From all over the state/union territories, sports ministers, and secretaries attended the conference. Nagaland Sports Parliamentary Secretary, Khriehu Liezietsu also attended the conference. In the conference 'Khelo India' and various ministry schemes and programmes were discussed.During the conference, Khriehu Liezietsu pointed out that Nagaland youth had a lot of potential in athletics and sports. He also said that the Nagaland youth were very talented especially in Football, Sepaktakraw and Taekwondo. He spoke of the need for infrastructure and facilities at the earliest to facilitate the young talents.
He also hoped that by 2020 and 2024 Olympic, the youth from Nagaland will represent the country. This was stated in a press release from Kuolie Mere, PRO Nagaland House New Delhi.
