Dimapur, July 30 (EMN): The Khonoma village council, Khonoma Women Union and Khonoma Youth Organisation have served the state government a 15-day ultimatum to re-arrest the under trial prisoner who had escaped from Kohima police custody on July 22. The ultimatum was contained in a joint letter addressed to the chief secretary on Tuesday. They have also demanded immediate action against those police personnel whose “dereliction and callousness in duty” had allowed the accused person to escape. The accused person, Sabir Ahmed was arrested in connection with the alleged rape and murder of a woman from Khonoma last year.
