The Hokah festival of the Khiamniungan community was celebrated from January 8 to the 9th at Nokhu headquarter under Noklak. The festival was organized by Nokhu Range Public Organisation (NRPO) with Minister for Health & Family Welfare P. Longon as chief guest.
Speaking during the occasion the Minister expressed gratitude to the NRPO for organizing the important event in such a beautiful and scenic place as Nokhu and called upon the gathering to preserve and practice the rich cultural heritage and celebration of festival to keep our identity alive.
The minister was accompanied by his wife, department officers and leaders from different organizations.
The concluding function was held on January 9 with Parliamentary Secretary for Land Revenue, VG, Women Resources Development L Khumo as the chief guest of the event. He spoke about the festival of Hokah and urged the gathering to continue such celebrations in future also.
