Village Union Dimapur at NEZCC Stone Garden in Dimapur on Saturday.
- DIMAPUR — Khetoi Village Union Dimapur (KVUD)
celebrated its silver jubilee on Saturday at NEZCC Stone Garden, 3rd Mile,
Dimapur, on the theme “Uniting for progress.”
- Speaking on the occasion as special guest, minster of PHED
and Cooperation, Jacob Zhimomi, acknowledged the migration from village to
settle in Dimapur 24 years ago, driven by the pursuit of various ventures.
- He emphasised the importance of recognising and honouring the
immense contributions of their ancestors, whose efforts have paved the way for
the present and added that it is through God's blessings that they have
sustained as community throughout the journey.
- He called for greater cooperation not just within their
community but also with others. He stressed the need for unity and
collaboration, fostering a spirit of mutual respect and understanding to build
a stronger and more inclusive society.
- Zhimomi emphasised that social issues go beyond drug and
alcohol abuse and highlighted the presence of numerous other challenges. He
urged the graduates to step out of their comfort zones and not solely focus on
government jobs. Instead, he encouraged them to explore the many available
startup programmes and entrepreneurial opportunities.
- Citing an example of Japan, he pointed out that individuals
largely rely on the private sector and prioritise organic products and
cultivation. In this regards, he has emphasised greater focus on agriculture to
foster self-sufficiency and economic sustainability.
- A souvenir was released by KVUD founding president, Akito
Zhimomi, which was dedicated by Kughahoto I Awomi, pastor of Hukavi Baptist
Church.
- Significance of the celebration was delivered by Huskha
Yepthomi, convenor of silver jubilee planning committee (SJPC), and prayer of
blessing was said by Rev. Henito Awomi, pastor of Khetoi Baptist Akukuhou.
