DIMAPUR — The Khelo India Centre (KIC), Chekiye Village, will conduct selection trials for Under-14 boys and girls on February 28 for the 2026–27 batch of its Football Academy.
According to a press release issued on Wednesday, the non-residential trials will be organised in collaboration with the Chekiye Village Sports Association at Chekiye Local Ground from 9:30 am. The trials are open to eligible players from Chümoukedima district.
The selection process is aimed at identifying promising young footballers, who will be inducted into the academy and provided systematic daily training under the Khelo India programme.

Participants have been requested to report at the venue in proper athletic attire, and bonafide residents of the district have been invited to attend the trials.
The Khelo India Centre stated that the centres have been set up to strengthen grassroots sports infrastructure at the district level, identify and nurture young talent, and promote mass participation in sports. The initiative also seeks to generate employment opportunities for former sportspersons and build a sustainable sporting ecosystem.
