Khango-led NSCN extends ceasefire with centre

DIMAPUR — The yearly ceasefire agreement between the NSCN/GPRN (Khango) and the Government of India has been extended for another year, according to the NSCN/ GPRN (Khango) Ministry of Information and Publicity.

“On March 7, 2024, in the spirit of seriousness to maintain chain of peace in the state and modalities of resolving issues, and  constantly deliberating for a lasting peace in the land of  the Nagas with the involvement of  the Naga people,  the Ceasefire  Agreement between the NSCN/ GPRN (Khango)  and Government of India ( GoI)  is being mutually extended  for a period of one year  with effect from  April 18, 2024 till April 17, 2025, with subjection  to adherence  to Ceasefire  Ground Rules,” stated a press communiqué from the NSCN/GPRN(K).

As per the communiqué, both the parties appended their signatures where the NSCN/ GPRN(K) represented by its Ceasefire Supervisory Board (CFSB)supervisor , A Imyapangba Ao and CFSB secretary, Mhoyamo Kithan.
