
Dimapur, Jan. 31 (EMN): The three-day combined conference of Kuki Baptist Association Youth Department (KBAYD), Ahthibung Gamkai and Chalkot Gamkai Kuki Christian Khangthah (CGKCK) Khanglai Khompi , 2022 was held at Phaijol village, Peren from Jan. 28 to the Jan. 30th.
The first joint conference was held on the theme, “Pathen Lhendoh Khangdong” and jointly held by the youth department of Kuki Baptist Association Nagaland (KBAN) and Chalkot Gamkai Kuki Christian Church (CGKCC), a press release informed.
Flag hoisting and dedication was done by Rev. K Singsit, Sr. Pastor KCC NS in the opening ceremony, while the welcome address was delivered by Paotinthang Lenthang, GB Phaijol village and the chairman of Khanglai Khompi 2022 committee respectively.
Motivational speeches on the theme, ‘The Chosen Generation’ were delivered by young theologians from different units.
L Singsit, president, Kuki Inpi Nagaland (KIN) delivered the exhortation on the second day. Various competitions such as choral competition, Lenkhom Laam, bible quiz, and extempore speech were also held, it informed.
The evening session of exhortation and sermon was delivered by Thangjamang, president of Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSON) and Lenkokam Hangsing, pastor and secretary of CGKCC.
Fusion modern traditional dance was presented by Kuki Christian Khangthah, Kuki Christian Church Jalukie town.
The third day of the conference included a homily session with different speakers of both churches. In the concluding session, the sermon was delivered by Rev. H Minlien Singson, associate pastor, KBAN.
The closing ceremony witnessed prize distribution. KCK Ahthibung was adjudged the overall champion. The choral competition was secured by KCK Ahthibung, with KCK Mongjang (Bongkolong) and KCK Phaijol as the second and third respectively.
KCK Ahthibung, KCK Phaijol and KCK Phanjang secured the first, second and third position in Lenkhom Laam, while the extempore speech based on traditional Kuki forefathers’ idioms and phrases was won by KCK Vongkithem with BYE Pellhang and BYE Songlhuh as the runners-up.
