
KOHIMA — Defending champion, Kezhaletuo Kire from Kohima district retained the Hornbill Festival 2nd Open Benchrest Air Rifle Shooting Competition title in the open category by securing 254 points held at Touphema village on Thursday.
An update from the organisers informed that Yanger Longkumer of Kohima district secured the second position with 228 points and Echengjang from Dimapur district secured the third position with 215 points.
Meanwhile, Echengjang from Dimapur district was declared champion of .177 category with 287 points, while the defending champion Zimir V Ngayan from Meghalaya secured second position by scoring 286 points and Khriesanyii Miachieo of Kohima district won the third position with 284 points.
The winner of the Hornbill Festival 2nd Open Benchrest Shooting Competition in the open category received cash prize of INR 50,000 and the winner in .177 category received cash prize of INR 30,000 and one px100 benchrest x3 air rifle sponsored by Precihole Sports India.
