
VISWEMA — Kevime Vitsu demonstrated impressive prowess by winning his third consecutive senior division title at the 76th Viswema Youth Organisation (VYO) wrestling meet on Tuesday in Viswema Village.
The thrilling final at John Government Higher Secondary School grounds saw Vitsu triumph over Kevidel Mekro with two decisive takedowns.
Despite an initial tie in one bout each, Vitsu's impressive display of skill and determination led to his triumphant victory in the nail-biting final match.
Tepulorhe Khanyo claimed the third position title by defeating Ketokhol Vitsu in two straight bouts.
In the junior category, Kevin Valeo emerged as the champion, defeating Maneho Vitsu twice in the final.
Zayievito Pucho secured the third position by defeating Noketo Rhetso with a 2-1 bout win.
The senior division champion received a cash prize of INR 25,000, while the second position holder received INR 15,000. The third and fourth position holders were awarded INR 10,000 and INR 7,000, respectively.
In the junior category, the winner received INR 7,000, while the second, third, and fourth positions received INR 6,000, INR 5,000, and INR 4,000 in that order.
Prior to the competition, Nosezol Valeo, pastor of Viswema Christian Revival Church, invoked God's blessings. Tebül Neikha, chairman of Viswema Village Council, exhorted the wrestlers, while Vitso Koso, games and sports secretary of VYO, administered the oath to the competitors.
