DIMAPUR — Khrielelie Kerhü-o was elected chairperson and Kekhrieneinuo Zumvü deputy chairperson of the Chiephobozou Town Council (CTC) on Monday.

During the election of the chairperson and deputy chairperson held at the deputy commissioner's office in Kohima, both Kerhü-o and Zumvü were elected unanimously, a DIPR report stated.

Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant, who presided over the election, congratulated the newly elected members and acknowledged the trust placed in them by the electorate.

He urged the chairperson, deputy chairperson and councillors to work collaboratively for the development of Chiephobozou town. He also wished them a successful and productive tenure.

On behalf of the councillors, the newly elected deputy chairperson assured dedication and commitment to fulfilling their responsibilities to the best of their ability.
