Dimapur, May 9 (EMN): Secretary General of Naga People’s Front (NPF) and Rajya Sabha MP, KG Kenye, urged the party men and women to remain committed to the party cautioning ‘anything could happen’ if the party is not rooted firmly in the face of mixed cultures and habits in the State.
KG Kenye said this in his address at the meeting held at Dimapur Town Hall on May 9 with the NPF units of 5 constituencies in Dimapur district. The meeting was attended by party members from all the 5 constituencies, besides NPF Central team including party the vice president, Pusazo Lurho, and Parliamentary Secretary of Economics & Statistics, Tovihoto Ayemi.
Speaking on the occasion, Kenye said the party has progressed well in the State with most of the party members now occupying important positions. He has, however, urged the party men and women to remain committed saying ‘anything could happen’ in the face of mixed culture and habit prevailing in the State.
The party Secretary General also reminded the members to be on alert in the event of abrogation of ceasefire saying the prevailing peace is fragile with the imposition of AFSPA in the State.
Lamenting on the absence of unity amongst the Nagas, Kenye said “Division has been the number 1 enemy.”
Kenye also spoke on the recent imbroglio concerning the ULB elections leading to the ouster of former chief minister.
Speaking on the occasion, Parliamentary Secretary of Economics & Statistics, Tovihoto Ayemi suggested regular meeting of the party workers to sensitise on the party matters.
While acknowledging NPF as an undisputed party, Tovihoto cautioned the party men against complacency thereby paving way for adversary to take their place.
“We had problems in the past but now everything has been settled,” he said adding there is a big responsibility on each one to take the party forward.
