Keneisevi wins SZYO wrestling championship

Staff Reporter SECHÜ ZUBZA, DECEMBER 14 Keneisevi Meyase today emerged as the champion of the 47th Wrestling Meet of Sechü Zubza Youth Organisation (SZYO), held at Western Angami Public Organisation (WAPO) Ground, Sechü Zubza.28 year old Meyase bagged the title after defeating Kekhriezo Nagi in the final match. The third and fourth positions were bagged by former SZYO champion Neisakuolie Nipu and Seketoukho Nipu respectively. Altogether, seven wrestlers entered the individual round (knock out stage) from among 52 wrestlers who competed in the wrestling meet. The other wrestlers who entered the individual round were Seyielhoukho Sechü, Megolekho Rino and Kevisezo Lhousa. Earlier in the day, the inaugural function of the 47th SZYO meet was graced by Lhoucalie Viya, Joint Resident Commissioner of Nagaland House, Kolkata, as the chief guest. In his address, Viya advised the wrestlers to be discipline and also told them to refrain from use of alcohol. Stating that games and sports activities have become an important field to build a career, he insisted the players to think big and achieve higher. He said bigger opportunities await those who has the determination to compete at the highest level of sports, provided they keep themselves fit with the right spirit of true sportsmanship. The chief guest also advised the villagers of Sechü Zubza to hold more responsibility as the village is located at the stretch of the National Highway 29. “Now the attention is shifting towards the east, and so we have to be prepared to meet the changes turning to our favour,” he said. SZYO will also observe its annual youth day celebration with Neikuo Sechü, chairman Village Council as the guest of honour on December 15.
