Kekhrieneitso represented India at GAMMA World Championships

DIMAPUR — Kekhrieneitso Angami, who trained at The Combat Academy Nagaland, represented India at the recently concluded World Championships of the Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA) held in Bangkok, Thailand.

A delayed update received here on Saturday informed that he was part of a 10-member team India led by Susovan Ghosh, a pioneer of Indian MMA.

It was informed that Kekhrieneitso, who competed in the lightweight division, secured the first win for India at the championships but winning his first bout against Hmida Slim from Tunisia via unanimous decision. However, he lost to Aizhigit Erkebai of Kyrgyzstan in the second round by TKO.

The GAMMA championship finals will be held on December 10 and it will be live streamed on the association’s official YouTube channel, informed the update.

It may be mentioned that Kekhrieneitso has participated at various MMA events across the country and has several accomplishments under his belt, the most recent being winning the championship belt at 'Warrior Hunt', organised by one of India's biggest MMA promotions, the Kumite 1 League.
