
Dimapur, Jan. 15 (EMN): The 5th Gospel Olympic of the Kuki Christian Khangthah Nagaland Synod (KCKNS), hosted by Mongjang (Bongkolong) village under Ahthibung sub-division of Peren district, concluded on December 13 on the theme “Race with perseverance” (Heb. 12:1).
An update from the programme coordinator, Seminngam Chongloi, stated that the retired joint director of Agriculture, Alet Hangsing, attended the inaugural programme as the chief guest, while the executive secretary of Kuki Christian Church Nagaland Synod, Rev. Chungpao Khongsai, dedicated the Gospel Olympic.
It stated that the welcome address was delivered by Dehtinlen Misao, chairman of KCKNS, and Paominthang Hangsing, GB of Mongjang (Bongkolong) delivered the keynote address
The main events included football, volleyball, Saipi Khupsuh, choreography, solo competition, Bible quiz, track events. It also included morning devotion, motivational talks, live praise and worship etc.
It stated that Chungpao Khongsai, executive secretary of KCCNS; Thangjakhup Hangsing, assistant professor; Lenkhokam Hangsing, secretary of Chalkot Gamkai KCC; and Seimang Haokip, secretary of Molvom Gamkai KCC; spoke on different topic during the five-day event.
The closing ceremony was attended by Alun Hangsing, retired commissioner and secretary of Youth Resources and Sports.
It further informed that KCK Phanjang Village, KCK Medziphema Town and KCK Mongjang (Mongjang) Village were adjudged the overall champion, 1st runners-up and 2nd runners-up respectively, while KCK Kuki Christian Church, Jalukie town was declared the best discipline unit.
Altogether, 17 units with 1000 youth attended the programme.
