KCCI held a stakeholder interaction in Kohima, focusing on business reforms, consumer welfare and golden jubilee preparations.
DIMAPUR — The newly elected office bearers of the Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), led by president Ruokuoneilie Kesiezie, organised a stakeholder interaction-cum-dinner at Where's The Food Restaurant, New Ministers' Hill, Kohima, on June 27.
According to a KCCI update, the programme brought together sector representatives from various business communities, providing a common platform for dialogue, collaboration, and strengthening unity within the business fraternity.
Addressing the gathering, Kesiezie emphasised the importance of collective leadership, stronger stakeholder engagement, and a unified approach to addressing issues affecting the business community.
A highlight of the programme was an open discussion session, during which participants deliberated on a range of issues concerning the business sector.
Topics included taxation and regulatory concerns, market syndicates and monopolistic practices, consumer welfare, strengthening the business ecosystem, and measures to safeguard the interests of genuine entrepreneurs.

The gathering also discussed the need to conduct a comprehensive census and statistical documentation of the business community to facilitate informed planning and effective policy advocacy.
Members further exchanged ideas and preparations for the upcoming golden jubilee celebration of the KCCI, which is scheduled to be commemorated later this year.
“The interaction concluded with a shared commitment among stakeholders to foster greater cooperation, strengthen institutional unity, and work collectively towards creating a more transparent, vibrant, and business-friendly environment while upholding the welfare of consumers and the public at large,” the update stated.
The programme was chaired by KCCI vice-president Khriesazo Liezietsu.
