Dimapur, April 15 (EMN): KCC loan beneficiaries (2012-2013) of 12 villages under SBI Aghunato, has appealed SBI ACM RBO, Mokokchung, to stop forceful recovery of KCC (2012-13) EMI from VDB account.
In a press statement issued by KCC beneficiaries (2012-13) Aghunato chairman, Ahoshe Sumi, stated that KCC loan was sanctioned by SBI, Aghunato and provided to the farmers without following the due process and procedures.
He said that farmers were not issued Bank passbook and account number in which they have to deposit the EMI amount for the recovery of KCC loan. “Even today, the Bank passbook and the account number have not been issued, but SBI Aghunato on the advice of their office has started deducting the amount ranging from 3000-5000 from August, 2016 from every MGNREGA wage payment made to VDB Account of 12 Villages which has the KCC beneficiaries of 2012-13 in SBI Aghunato” stated the chairman.
He also stated that KCC loanees didn’t know anything about the process undertaken by the AGM BRO, Mokokchung for recovery of KCC loan and no agreement has been signed by the loanees for any time bound repayment of loan.
“In this world of Justice, even the hardcore criminals are first put to trail and judgments are made basing on the gravity of their crime. But in this case, the real stakeholders were neither informed nor consulted in any stage. But, to our utter surprise three-time deductions has been already done from the MGNREGA wage payments as a recovery of Loan” he added.
This entire exercise by SBI office has caused wide rift among the villagers and KCC loanees of 12 villages. Hence, this deduction process which is unjust, devoid of proper process of consultation should be stopped in order not to create misunderstanding, said Ahoshe.
The beneficiaries also questioned the SBI ACM RBO, Mokokchung as to why only the KCC loanees were made to repay when there are many other outstanding loans (NPA) under SB1 Aghunato, amounting to crores of rupees and why was the selective policy applied? It also queried whether it was their intention to harm the harmless farmers through their selective torture technique or are all the other Loans (NPA) under SBI Aghunato waived by SBI AGM BRO. Mokokchung?
The KCC loanees informed the SBI ACM not to forcefully harass and torture by deducting the amount from the MGNREGA wage components and VDB Account bin and forceful deduction of Loan EMI from the VDB Account of the 12 Villages by SBI Aghunato. Further, it cautioned that in the event of any misunderstanding or untoward incidents between the villagers and KCC loanees, the SBI AGM BRO Mokokchung would be held solely responsible.
