Assam Rifles organises bike rally in Kohima to commemorate the 26th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas.

KOHIMA — A bike rally to commemorate the 26th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas was organised by the Assam Rifles on Saturday in Kohima.
The rally was flagged off by Manish Kumar, IGAR (North), at Assam Rifles Helipad in Kohima. Later, a flag-in ceremony was conducted by the parents of late Captain N Kenguruse at Nerhema, followed by a wreath-laying and homage ceremony at the Captain N Kenguruse Maha Vir Chakra Memorial.
During the flag-off ceremony in Kohima, IG (North) Manish Kumar felicitated two Operation Vijay veterans, namely Vikhotso, retired honorary captain and Kevinguzo, honorary Lieutenant of the Naga Regiment.
In his address, Kumar said that they have gathered not only to commemorate a historic military triumph but also to renew collective commitment to the enduring values of courage, sacrifice and patriotism that defined India's victory during the Kargil War.

He also stated that the bike rally is not just a ride but a sacred pilgrimage and solemn tribute of remembrance, gratitude and national pride.

He further stated that with the bike rally, they honour not only the legacy of the war heroes, but also the broader spirit of unity between the armed forces and the citizens they protect.
The IG also reminded the riders to ride with pride and purpose.
“Let this rally serve as a living reminder that Kargil Vijay Diwas is a legacy, a responsibility and a call to honour, and may we carry it forward with integrity, courage and unity of purpose,” he added.
On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, BJP Nagaland paid tributes to the indomitable spirit and supreme sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces.
Led by State Vice President Eduzu Theluo, along with State ST Morcha President Thomas Magh, members of the State IT Cell, Kohima Yuva Morcha, and other party office bearers, the team visited the Nerhema Memorial to honour Kargil War hero late Captain Neikezhakuo Kenguruse, (Maha Vir Chakra awardee).
“The commemorative visit served as a heartfelt reminder of the courage, valour, and dedication displayed by our brave soldiers. The delegation also had the opportunity to interact with the parents and children of Lt. Captain Kenguruse, conveying deep gratitude and respect on behalf of the party and the people of Nagaland,” the state BJP stated in a press release.
