Diphu, July 12: Karbi Youth Organisation (KYO) has submitted a memorandum to the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Chief Executive Member (CEM), Tuliram Ronghang on 11 July. The organisation apprised Ronghang the problems faced by the people in the district, particularly the youths section and appealed CEM to look up the matter with deep concern.
The organisation in a memorandum highlighted certain issues like unemployment, health and irregular attendance of government employee’s officers and staffs. Regarding unemployment, KYO mentioned that it was not possible to solve unemployment through government services alone, a mechanism should be explored for development of human resources so that self employment schemes in difference sector like agriculture, veterinary, fisheries, handloom and textile, carpentries, small scale industries etc.
The organisation appealed CEM to establish proper training institutes and training facilities so that the unemployed youths could start their entrepreneurs. Concerning about health, KYO stated that they rural area, the service of the Primary Health Center (PHC) were not satisfactory due to lack of sufficient staffs including doctors, nurses and even medicines. The organisation further stated that the PHC at Langlokso and Belughat remained non-functional for the last 15 years.
Moreover, the organisation also highlighted that most of the government employees officer and staffs did not attend their respective office although the government has fixed the time. Some of the officers even reach office in the afternoon added the organisation. The organisation has appealed CEM to look up the matter and take necessary action. The memorandum was signed by its President Jackyson Terang and General Secretary Se-im Teron.
