Diphu, April 22(EMN): The Hill State Demand Council queried the the BJP run Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Chief Executive Member Tuliram Ronghang and the BJP of Karbi Anglong District committee led by Ratan Teron President for keeping silent on the sensitive issues prevailing in the district, alleged Denial Teron the general secretary, Propaganda of the committee during the press conference held on Thursday in their office.
They further added that the Bill to be introduced in the Assam Assembly to make Assamese language compulsory in all school including educational institution under CBSC and ICSC has reminded the people of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao about the imposition of Assamese language in the entire hill Tribals of northeast by the state government in 1960.
That had led to the birth of Meghalaya and Mizoram he added.
That step taken by the then state government to thrust upon the hill Tribals against their will has also compelled both Karbis and Dimasas to demand Autonomous State.
Moreover, earlier BJP State Government through a cabinet decision had imposed Sanskrit on all Scholl up to class-VIII.
Therefore, the HSDC will never allow the BJP State Government to impose both Assamese and Sanskrit language on the people of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao.
The step taken to impose both Assamese and Sanskrit language has reflected not only the anti Tribal character of the BJP government but thus the action has reflected its anti-Karbi and anti-Dimasa stance, he further alleged.
