Diphu, May 7 (EMN): The Assam University Academic Council has sent an approval for the introduction of Karbi Language Certificate Course (KLCC) for Assam University Diphu Campus (AUDC) on May 5 in order to promote Karbi language in higher educational institutions and universities.
The authority has already promoted KLCC at Dibrugarh University in 2017.
In this regard, books are said to be printed but is yet to be inaugurated. The Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council has already approved an amount of INR 5 lakh to the Society for Promotion of Karbi Language (SPKL).
After the successful introduction of courses in both the universities of AUDC and Dibrugarh University, the Editor Longsing Teron and his team are planning to introduce the course in school level for Class-IX and Class-X.
As of now, the Karbi language subject is taught in primary school level, sources added.
