Karbi Anglong Sports Association Girls FC wins the Assam Women’s League 2025 in Diphu with a decisive 7–0 victory over Akash FC, securing their spot in the Indian Women’s League.

DIPHU — Karbi Anglong Sports Association (KASA) Girls FC won the Assam Women's League 2025 by winning their final league match against Akash FC, Guwahati, played on the evening of July 14 at KASA Stadium in Diphu, witnessed by a host of dignitaries and football fans.
Among the attendees were Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) and president of KASA, Tuliram Ronghang; MP Amarsing Tisso; KASA executive members (EMs); KAAC members of the Autonomous Council (MACs); Assam Football Association (AFA) treasurer Haren Gogoi; and KASA general secretary Dr. Pankaj Teron.
There were six teams altogether, with each team playing 10 league matches. KASA Girls FC won 8 matches and lost 2, accumulating a total of 24 points.

Next was Oil Lakshya, which won 7 matches, lost 2, and drew 1, collecting a total of 22 points. Third place was the State Football Academy, with 6 wins, 3 losses, and 1 draw, totalling 19 points. Fourth place was Akash FC, which won 6 matches and lost 4, collecting 18 points. Langhin Sports Academy won 2 matches and lost 8, collecting 6 points.
The lowest on the points table was JB Nagaon, with zero wins and no points.
KASA Girls FC defeated the visitors by a large margin of 7–0. With this win in their final league match last evening, KASA Girls FC topped the points table with a total of 24 points.
In the first half, Maidangshri Narzary opened the scoring in the 26th minute for KASA Girls, followed by Marbarin Nongrum in the 35th minute. Maidangshri scored her second goal in the 41st minute and added her third goal in injury time, the 47th minute. KASA Girls FC were leading 4–0 at half-time.
In the second half, Maidangshri added her fourth goal in the 74th minute, while Ani Tayang scored two goals for her team in the 80th and 90th minutes, with Maidangshri assisting the latter.
Puja Pache, who scored 18 goals during the league matches, received the highest scorer award, while Jyoti Tumung was adjudged the best goalkeeper, and Maidangshri was awarded the best player award.
With this win, KASA Girls FC have qualified to participate in the Indian Women’s League of the All India Football Federation (AIFF), as declared by AFA treasurer Haren Gogoi in the post-match.
In a post-match presentation, CEM Ronghang presented the champion’s trophy to KASA Girls FC. The CEM congratulated the team on winning the tournament and wished them well for the upcoming national league.
