Diphu, Dec.27 (EMN): The two-day silver jubilee celebration of Rongchingdon Baptist Church (RBC), Rongchingri, Diphu, concluded on Tuesday at the church premises on the theme ‘Rejoicing in Christ’ (Philippians 4:4).
Executive Secretary, NKBA, Rev. Tenson Bey, unveiled the commemorative stone, followed by a jubilee worship service led by Rongchingdon Baptist Church pastor, Harun Rongpi.
The worship service started with welcome speech delivered by Roben Rongpi, deacon, and a reading of the church history by former RBC pastor, Robinson Rongpi.
Introduction and felicitation of reverends and pastors coming from various churches including other special guests were taken up by the church secretary, Augustine Teron.
Greetings were delivered by Rev. Tenson Bey representing NKBA, pastor Hilson Singnar from DBC side and Rev. Khoyasing Ronghang from Diphu Area Baptist Fellowship.
Former executive secretary, NKBA, Lawrence Ingti, in his jubilee message, called upon the church members to be united in serving God. He asked the church members to forgive each other so the church grows from strength to strength.

To have understanding in the family, Rev. Ingti said husband and wife should submit to each other to strengthen the family as well as the church.
“With unity in the family the church will grow strong,” he said and added that the total church members have grown to 445 with 109 families including Langvoku and Longhup fellowships.
The youths of RBC sang the jubilee theme song, while choirs from Karbi Anglong Evangelical Baptist Convention Church, DBC and Longhup fellowship also presented special numbers.

Langvoku fellowship performed gospel choreography and Sunday school children also presented action songs.
On December 26, the church flag was hoisted by pastor Harun Rongpi, who is also president of the silver jubilee celebration committee.
A souvenir 'Ruptalon' was released by convenor, finance sub-committee, Hemari Kro, while the pandal was inaugurated by Kledish Terangpi.
Rongchingdon church was initially a fellowship under Diphu Baptist Church (DBC) and was formed in 1990 with seven families.
