Karbi Anglong police arrests one person with contraband drugs

Diphu, Oct. 15 (EMN):  One person was arrested with drugs at Dillia Tiniali under Dillai police station in Karbi Anglong on Saturday.

According to the police, a special naka was set up at Dillai Tiniali under Dillai Police station. At around 10:15 am, a Maruti Alto coming from Dimapur was intercepted.

 On searching the vehicle, 30 soap boxes of heroin weighing 384.56 gram were recovered. The market value of the contraband items was said to be INR 2 crore. The consignment was hidden in a secret chamber behind the passenger seat, it was informed.

 In this connection, the driver of the vehicle, one Asemong Thupitor (33) presently residing at Signal Colony in Dimapur was arrested.
