Karbi Anglong DC releases 2026 electoral roll draft

DIPHU — Deputy Commissioner of Karbi Anglong, Nirola Phangchopi, released the draft photo electoral roll for 2026 at a press conference at the District Commissioner's office on Saturday. The roll covers Diphu, Bokajan, and Howraghat Legislative segments, with January 1, 2026, as the qualifying date.

Briefing media persons, the DC said that the draft photo electoral roll for 2026 is available at the Electoral Registration Officer's office and Booth Level Officers' offices during office hours.

According to the DC, the voter breakdown is as follows: Bokajan - 78,627 male, 79,575 female, 0 transgender (Total: 1,58,202), Howraghat - 95,868 male, 99,110 female, 5 transgender (Total: 1,94,983), and Diphu: 92,327 male, 94,765 female, 11 transgender (Total: 1,86,903).

The overall total male voters of these three LAC segments is 2,66,822, female voters 273249 and  transgender  16.

Phangchopi also shared about the details of the last final publication of electoral roll 2025 and the draft electoral roll 2026, which are as follows: Draft roll (as on 27-12-2025) - 2,66,822 male, 2,73,249 female, 16 transgender (Total: 5,40,088); final roll (as on 06-01-2025) - 2,60,154 male, 2,65,228 female, 0 transgender (Total: 5,25,415), indicating an increase of 6,668 male, 8,021 female, and 16 transgender.

She further informed that for claims or objections regarding voter inclusion (eligible as of 01-01-2026), one can submit Form-6, 7, or 8 between 27-12-2025 and 22-01-2026.
