Karbi Anglong administration prepares for Assam CM’s visit to distribute Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan cheques and Republic Day celebrations.

DIPHU — The district administration of Karbi Anglong convened preparatory meetings regarding the proposed visit of the Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, and the upcoming Republic Day celebration at the district commissioner’s office and Circuit House, respectively, on Tuesday.
Both meetings were chaired by Aranyak Saikia, district commissioner of Karbi Anglong.
The Chief Minister is scheduled to visit from January 12 to the 14th. The meeting held in the morning discussed arrangements for the distribution of cheques under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan (MMUA).
Under the scheme, more than 55,000 women beneficiaries from Diphu and Howraghat Legislative Assembly Constituencies (LACs) will be covered. The initiative aims to empower women members of self-help groups (SHGs) to become rural micro-entrepreneurs (Lakhpati Baideu) by enabling them to earn a minimum annual income of INR 1 lakh through financial assistance provided as grant-in-aid in the form of an entrepreneurship fund.

Saikia assigned specific responsibilities to all line departments and laid special emphasis on the role of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) officials to ensure timely and coordinated completion of all necessary arrangements.
In the afternoon, the administration convened a meeting regarding the celebration of the 77th Republic Day, scheduled to be observed on January 26 at the Diphu Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School playground.
Arrangements relating to the main ceremonial function, parade, security, logistics and coordination among departments were discussed.
The district commissioner directed all concerned departments to ensure timely completion of assigned responsibilities and maintain proper coordination for the successful observance of the national event.
