DIMAPUR — The 3rd
KAMC Torque Challenge is scheduled for November 28 to the 30th at Thenyizumi,
Sedzu Valley, in Phek district. It is being organised in collaboration with the
Tourism department and the Thenyizumi Youth Social Welfare Organisation.
According to an update, the event will consist of three car
categories: below 1300cc, open, and SUV. The total prize money will be INR 3
lakh.
In the below 1300cc category, the first prize is INR 40,000,
the second prize is INR 30,000, and the third prize is INR 20,000. In the open
category, the first prize is INR 70,000, the second prize is INR 50,000, and
the third prize is INR 30,000.
In the SUV category, the first prize is INR 30,000, the
second prize is INR 20,000, and the third prize is INR 10,000.
There will be two additional trophies for the most promising
driver and overall best timing. The event will take place in two terrains:
first on tarmac, which will be a sprint of approximately 4.5 km, and second on
gravel for approximately 3 km uphill.
On November 28, registration and scrutiny will take place,
followed by the tarmac (sprint) event on November 29. The event will conclude
with the gravel (uphill) competition on November 30.
On November 30, there will be a bonus event for spectators:
an open moto sprint enduro for local bike riders. The organisers are expecting
drivers from all over the Northeastern states.
