Dimapur, Dec. 11 (EMN): The Golden Jubilee celebration of Kamaleah Area Sports Association (KASA) got underway at Lephori village under Phek district on Tue. Dec. 11 with Dr. Andrew Ahoto, chairman of Livingstone Foundation Higher Secondary School as the inaugural special guest.
The inaugural programme of the Golden Jubilee celebration began at around 9:30 am on Dec. 11 with the unveiling of the Golden Jubilee Monolith and unfurling of the KASA flag by Dr. Andrew Ahoto. In his address to the gathering, Dr. Andrew Ahoto who is also the President of All Nagaland Private Schools’ Association (ANPSA) Dimapur, called upon the people to shun all kinds of isms and work together for ushering in an era of unity and brotherhood through such events like sports. He highlighted the importance of sports events in bringing about peace and unity in the region and also called upon the younger generation to improve their skills rather than focusing only on bookish education. He also thanked the officials of KASA for making him an integral part of their Golden Jubilee Celebration.
Prominent sports personalities from the Pochury tribe, Head GBs, village council chairmen and members, church officials and members along with youth and students leaders among other dignitaries were present during the programme. Maj. Arpit, OC of 22 Assam Rifles, Akhen Post who is also one of the patrons of KASA was also among the visiting dignitaries during the occasion.
The four day Golden Jubilee celebration will culminate with the valedictory function to be held on Dec. 14 which will be attended by Wetsope Krome, IPS, Inspector General of Police (ABn/NAP), Nagaland as the valedictory special guest.
