
KOHIMA — The 9th Northeast Sale of Articles of Rural Artisans Society (SARAS) fair at the Hornbill Festival was inaugurated by Kaisa Rio, wife of Nagaland Chief Minister, on Sunday at Amphitheater, Naga Heritage Village, Kisama.
The organisers informed that SARAS fair is an initiative of Rural Development department with an objective to promote self help groups (SHG) in order to promote their livelihoods. It is a marketing platform for the entrepreneurs.
It was informed that a total of 30 stalls have been put at the fair, represented by 17 districts along with guests from five north eastern states.
The organisers have invited the public to visit the stalls and witness how the different communities are engaged in livelihood activities.
SARAS fair would be opened from 10 am to 5 pm throughout the Hornbill Festival.
Kaisa Rio also launched a uniform vest for women SHG community during the program.
