KADCC stage protest against Priyanka’s arrest

Diphu, Oct. 5 (EMN):
Karbi Anglong District Congress Committee (KADCC) organised a sit-in demonstration in its office at Diphu on Tuesday in protest against the arrest of All India Congress Committee, General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra by Uttar Pradesh Police on Monday.

Speaking to journalists, KADCC, Vice President, Rotan Engti said, ‘The whole India knows about farmers' protest which has been going on in the last nine-10 months regarding the farmers' bill. On Sunday, one of the Union Minister Ajay Mishra’s son ran over the farmers, where eight persons have lost their lives and several others have been injured following clashes between protesting farmers and the convoy of Union Minister Ajay Misra’s son. In this regard, In-charge AICC, general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was arrested. So to protest against (her arrest), we have organised a protest in Diphu to show solidarity with farmers’.

Engti added, ‘In coming days, the demands of the farmers have to be fulfilled. 

The demonstration, which lasted for two hours, was attended by former Executive Member, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Ashok Teron and several others.
