Diphu, Nov. 2 (EMN): The Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) team led by Chief Executive Member (CEM) Tuliram Ronghang and accompanied by its Chairman Horensing Bey, EM’s, MAC’s and MLA’s met the new Governor of Assam (Sixth Schedule) Jagadish Mukhi at Rajbhawan, Guwahati, residence of Governor of Assam on Thursday, Nov. 2.
During the discussions, salient points were apprised by CEM on immediate implementation of Article 244(A) of the Indian Constitution which is on Autonomous State to Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao districts and to increase the release of Annual budget to KAAC and direct funding from the Central Government.
CEM, Ronghang also highlighted the Governor that during the visit of Sarbananda Sanowal, Chief Minister of Assam on 2nd Karbi Anglong day celebration (August 7, 2016) at Guwahati had said that Karbi Anglong District is rich with natural beauty and organic abundant agriculture produce, due to which the district has a qualities to become global destination for agriculture and tourism. Basing on this Ronghang suggested Agriculture and Tourism can also be taken into due consideration for taking into mandatory steps for all round development in the entire district.
