Diphu, Dec. 16 (EMN): Sharing the goodwill of Christmas, Executive Member (Agriculture) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Amarsing Tisso distributed blankets to senior citizens including Sarkari Gaon Buras and Gaon buras among the Kuki communities of Singhason MAC constituency at Kuki Colony, Manja on Thursday.
Speaking at the programme EM Tisso said, “According to the report the density of tiger population is high in Singhason hills and the government has proposed declaring a Tiger Reserve Forest in Singhason ranges, which is close to Kaziranga National Park. The KAAC authority has discussed the matter with the state government. Though it is not lifted, the matter is dormant with the government.”
‘Singhason MAC constituency is still lacking in modern facilities like proper road connectivity, good school buildings, health care, mobile connectivity and electricity. In order to avail such development the Kukis brothers and sisters should support the government’, the EM stated, adding that under PMGSY roads will be connected in Kuki villages in remote Singhason hills.
Meanwhile, EM of KAAC for Health & Family Welfare, Khansing Rongpi urged everyone to take Covid vaccination for their safety.
EM Rongpi also said Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong have the lowest vaccination percentage and thus, urged the people to support the government in achieving 100 percent success.
More than 64 aged persons including SGBs and GBs from areas like Pitaijol, Chongjang, Selamphai, Mongjang, Kaibung, Phaija, Sungjang, Gogajang and Mongjang received the blankets.
