Diphu, Jan.9 (EMN): Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang has announced to evict illegal encroachers along Karbi Anglong -Meghalaya border at the earliest.
Speaking as the chief guest at the ongoing 9th conference of Karbi Cultural Society held at Karbi People’s Hall in Taralangso on January 9, Tuliram affirmed that not an inch of its land would not be allowed to be occupied by outsiders.
Tuliram also announced two days restricted holiday during the Karbi Youth Festival (KYF) effective from the forthcoming 44th Karbi Youth Festival (KYF) scheduled from February 15-19.
The three-day conference of Karbi Cultural Society (KCS) began on January 8 and would culminate on January 10. During the conference, delegations from various KCS units from west Karbi Anglong and Karbi Anglong are taking part in various events.
Ronghang was accompanied by KAAC chairman Horensing Bey, deputy chairman Ritesh Enghi, executive member Rupsing Teron, MACs Mongol Sing Timung, Longki Timung, Lunsing Teron, Ramsing Timung, Richard Tokbi, along with former member Bidya Sing Rongpi and former MLA Chandra Kanta Terang and KCS president Chandra Sing Kro and founder member of KCS Lunse Timung.
