Diphu, Jan. 14 (EMN): In a major development, the Karbi Anglong police arrested three outfits of the newly floated arms organisation -- Karbi Border Liberation Army (KBLA) -- from Deithor area under Deithor police station on Jan. 8.
Informing the media persons, the Deithor police station, Officer-in-Charge, Bidyut Bikash Baruah said that the arrest came after an information was received regarding the anti-social activities carried out by the newly floated arms organisation.
The arrest was made following an extortion note they had sent for a sum of INR 20,000 to a contractor MP Agarwal. The arrested admitted to the crime.
An extortion note was also found from the arrested persons.
No arms were found on them, added the police officer.
The arrested persons were identified as Jonasing Ingti (36) of Bapuram Tokbi village under Dolamara police station, Bikrom Ronghang (20) of Hemari Ronghang village Rongteke, Deithor Police Station and Jacob Kiling of Sarbura Rongpi village Chokihola police station.
