Diphu, June 20 (EMN): The BJP members of Karbi Anglong observed Vikash Utsav at Dongkamukam, 90 km from Diphu on June 20 Wednesday.
'We shall seek the long standing demand of 244 (Article) at the same time we shall also work together for the development of the region, in this regard we all have to live together united,' said Karbi Anglong Autonomous council (KAAC), Chief Executive Member (CEM) Tuliram Ronghang during the observation.
Ronghang assured that, all the 26 MAC constituencies of KAAC would be given equal power. He said, it was a historic win for the BJP government during the last MAC election where the entire 26 MAC constituencies won. Also, he said that the government is reaching out their support to the needy by giving away centrally sponsored schemes like group housing (PMGSY), sanitary latrine, etc.
For sustainability of youth empowerment in the region, loan of INR 1-2 lakh were given away.
During the observation, Ronghang said that the 'bandh' culture should be erased from the society and should inculcate work culture instead.
Former Chairman KAAC, Horensing Bey said that there is no peace of mind because of excessive flow of RTI activities in the district.
EM for PHE, Pradip Rongpi said that the incomplete works of the last fifteen years would be completed in another five years.
Prior to the programme, Tuliram Ronghang inaugurated various developmental works under West Karbi Anglong.
