K Therie mourns demise of Fali Sam Nariman

DIMAPUR — Former Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) president K Therie condoled the demise of eminent jurist Fali Sam Nariman, who passed away on February 21 at the age of 95.

In a note, Therie recalled Nariman's role in the Kihoto Hollohon vs Zachilhu case between 1990-1992.

He said that he had observed Nariman's huge respect in the Supreme Court and called the case a landmark decision, noting that it resulted in the court having jurisdiction over the speaker's decisions, allowing it to now overturn bad decisions by the speaker.

Therie prayed that the soul of the deceased rest in peace.
